In my life this week… WONKA! WONKA! WONKA! We are Wonka crazy here! JC14 and AJ7 performed last night to a sold-out crowd! They did a great job, from what I could hear backstage. I’m really excited, because I get to watch the entire performance from the audience tonight!! 🙂
I spent an entire day out with two friends–shopping, eating and painting. I felt a tad bit guilty for leaving my crew at home for an entire day, but it was a good day. And a much needed time of refreshment for Mom! Hubby was very encouraging and enjoyed spending the day with the kids.
I started exercising again. I have spent a little more time on my personal writing and reading, although you can’t really tell that here on the blog. And I am tweaking our daily schedule yet again…
In our homeschool this week… We completed our puffer fish study, complete with play-doh and paper mache’ puffer fish! And in our spare time…you guessed it. We practiced for Wonka!
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Well, we’re going to the theater, ha! Monday, we’ll day trip to the Natural Science Museum to see their butterfly exhibit using discounted passes I bought through Living Social. The rest of the week will be consumed by school and Wonka.
My favorite thing this week was… The excitement from JC14 and AJ7 over a job well done!
What’s working/not working for us… We’re enjoying the theater, but gas prices are NOT WORKING for us! We live about 20 minutes from the theater (in the country), so every trip into town costs.
Homeschool questions/thoughts I have… I need to remind myself: I am not attempting to raise geniuses or even academically superior students. My goal is to raise children into adults that love Jesus. If my children learn to love Him and serve Him, I will have done my job well. It really is ALL that matters in this world.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share… In a random discussion that came up this week discussing Andrew Jackson & Stonewall Jackson, we ran across this cute video…

A very big AMEN to your homeschool thought!!! Those are my thoughts exactly. 🙂
Adults that love Jesus are the real geniuses! The money and prestige are secondary. Glad you got out with some friends for a little while!
