If you’re a long-term reader here, you know that I have struggled with my weight for a while. I don’t whine about it a whole lot, or at least I try not to, but it comes up in my posts occasionally. You know that a couple months back, I attempted the Couch to 5K plan. I started well, and then I crashed and burned.
Two and half years ago, I was pregnant with sweet baby number four. Sweet baby number four put me on bed rest for THREE MONTHS! The delivery was rather traumatic and the recovery was slow compared to normal deliveries. I know it is unfair to blame ALL of my weight trouble on sweet baby number four…I mean, she does have three older siblings that didn’t help the cause at all…but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
I have lost and gained several times over the past two and half years. I have always “given up” just shy of my weight loss goal, and I’m kinda getting tired of that behavior. And even though the holidays are coming, there is no time like the present, right? I feel like I have the right knowledge–what to do and what to eat. I am just struggling in the motivation area, and I honestly beat myself down (mentally) more than I pick myself up (physically).
So, I have devised a plan. I know myself well enough to know I need short-term goals and successes to keep me motivated to reach the long-term goal! I have an eating plan, a workout plan and a spiritual/mental plan. I think my past failures may have been partly due to my neglect of my mental/spiritual health, so I am making extra effort in that area this time.
- Spend time in the Word every morning. Memorize my “fighter verse” and recall it in moments of weakness.
- Complete the T-Tapp Basic Workout Plus. It’s only 15 minute, after all!
- Green smoothie for breakfast. Jillian Shake or salad for lunch. Jillian shake or one small serving of whatever is for dinner. Only fruit, vegetables or Greek yogurt for snacks and only one a day.
In case you’re wondering, my “fighter verse” for the next 10 days is
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
