I am trying to make it a habit, to hold myself accountable, to blog at the beginning of the month about our progress on meeting our Goals for 2009.
I won’t post about all 8 goals at once this time. Rather, I will focus only on Goals #1 & #2 today since they were, more or less, connected. Goal #1–Establish a daily devotion time with the children. Goal #2–Memorize more Scripture.
And the good news is…we are making PROGRESS! We have been pretty consistent to share devotions & prayer time together about 3 days a week most weeks. Some weeks are busier than others. I know that is no excuse, but it does create an obstacle that I am still trying to figure out how to get around or over since most of the busy-ness can’t be removed. And I am so proud of all of my children in their Scripture memorization. We are learning together using My ABC Bible Verses: Hiding God’s Word in Little Hearts.
We have all learned the following verses:
A-A soft answer turns away wrath. Proverbs 15:1
B-Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9
C-Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. Colossians 3:20
D-Do all things without complaining or disputing. Philippians 2:14
E-Even a child is known by his deeds. Proverbs 20:11
F-For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
G-Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
