Homeschool Mother’s Journal

In my life this week… I have accomplished almost NO exercise. Eating has been mediocre. BUT, quiet time with the Lord has been more consistent, so that is a positive. I have also been working on more personal reading & writing this week–journaling & creative writing.

In our homeschool this week… We have been mostly on schedule. Everyone has had good attitudes about getting their schoolwork done quickly and without complaining. (Phil. 2:14) All four of the kids have been sharing some table time as we’ve been studying Puffer Fish together this week. Look for a review of that material coming soon!

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Wonka practice! The play opens next week and runs for two weekend, so it will be crazy busy for us. But before that is Easter weekend. We are planning a quiet celebration of our risen Savior. Sunrise service at church, followed by breakfast, Sunday school and a celebration worship service. We’ll come home, grill some burgers and hide some eggs. I’m looking forward to a quiet, peaceful afternoon.

My favorite thing this week was… Last night, on the way home from Wonka practice, singing at the top of our lungs to “The Candyman Can”… That’s the stuff memories are made of!

What’s working/not working for us… My procrastination/perfectionism is NOT working for us. I have all the right tools, but I have been a bit too relaxed lately. There are things that I could be getting done that I’m not just because of my perfectionist attitude, which leads to procrastination… I think I’ll spend some time when I get done here to reorganize & reprioritize our time.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have… HIGH SCHOOL! I’m trying not to FREAK OUT here!! “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…”

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture! ~Douglas Phillips of Vision Forum
