Learning to Trust Him More

Jehovah Jireh. It is my favorite of God’s Names.

It means the Lord will provide.

Just this morning, I prayed –wrote it in my journal–Be our Jehovah Jireh.

Just this afternoon, I received an email from our sending agency informing us of a donation received via Paypal. A very large gift. A generous gift from brothers and sisters that understand. A gift so generous and sacrificial that it took my breath away.

And then Hubby comes home and tells of a business acquaintance that has verbally comitted to purchase ONE of our six airline tickets. A HUGE BLESSING!

1 John 3:1a
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

Don’t think I count only financial blessings. No. This evening, Hubby offered (without my asking) to take the children to a basketball game. Two and a half hours of solitude. Ahhhhh, a short but much needed and much appreciated reprieve from the hustle and bustle and noise and responsibility.

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

He does not change, and yet I have the nerve to wonder…to wonder if He will provide this time. And then I am so totally undeserving…but, He does it again. He provides in the most unexpected ways and always in His timing.

Psalm 50:10
for every animal of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.

Why fret?

Oh, for grace to trust Him more…
